Tom's Story
Tom is Cincinnati born and raised (and proud of it!). A mechanical engineering graduate of the University of Cincinnati, Tom started his career at Magellan Aerospace as a manufacturing engineer. He's now the Operations Engineering Manager, overseeing the quality, manufacturing and environmental engineering departments at Magellan.
Maureen's Story
Maureen is a Cincinnati-transplant. After growing up in the Chicago suburbs and earning a degree in chemistry from the University of Illinois, she moved to Cincinnati to pursue a career in research and development at the Procter and Gamble Company. Maureen recently finished her MBA from Xavier University and even more recently accepted a position at ThinkVine, a marketing consulting firm.
Their Relationship
Tom and Maureen met when Maureen was working part time at one one of Cincinnati's finest establishments, Rootie's Brickhouse.
The couple actually met the first night that Maureen was working at Rooties. Since Maureen had never bartended before, she was feeling a bit out of her element. Tom and his friends sat at the bar and gave her helpful hints and poked fun of how seriously and precisely she poured her drinks (but what would you expect, she's a chemist!).
Tom, never expecting to be able to "pick up the bartender", continued to visit Maureen, but kept his interest to himself. After a few weeks, Maureen finally gave Tom her phone number...and the rest is history. :)
